Akkhāro

The name Akkhāro is derived from “Akkha,” symbolizing spices in their whole, complete form, combined with the idea of aroma, representing their rich and bold fragrance and flavors. Spices carry stories of soil, sun, and long-lived traditions. Akkhāro brings you whole spices chosen for their purity, potency, heritage, and bold aroma. Carefully sourced and thoughtfully packed, these spices retain their natural oils and distinctive character, so every dish tells a richer story.

The design uses graphic motifs inspired by the various elements and shapes found in each spice plant, arranged into ornamental, symmetrical compositions. Each whole spice is featured at the center of the design as a graphic form. Since whole spices were traditionally preserved in jars, a jar-shaped frame is used to contain the central motif. The color palette draws from the warm, earthy tones of spices commonly found in traditional Indian kitchens, evoking a sense of familiarity, warmth, nostalgia, and purity—much like the whole spices from our grandmothers’ kitchens.
